To close out this week of Cretan delight it seemed fitting to share something of the island's modern history. Zorba the Greek, Nikos Kazantzakis' everyman of the 20th century, captured the hearts of the world when it was turned into a movie in 1964.
The following scene shows the Athens Egghead learn how to dance from the salt of the earth.
